Happy Entropy in your Home Ecosystem

To create more abundance within your ecosystem and to assist with the scarcity of time we often feel these days simplify the nonliving systems in your life and make space for the living ones. The inheritance of the cultural knowledge you create by designing a new and improved lifestyle will be shared simply by the example you provide your children and community. Children will experience this new balanced homesteading approach first hand. Give the youth opportunities to assist you with the creation, maintenance, and continued adaptations of your homesteading system.

A story about a Cactus and a Fairy...

This story is about real life and loss and was written in an effort to support a beautiful educator, Kaitlin, who I had the privilege to meet this summer. I was inspired by her simplicity and peace and saw that she was someone who had already pursued and was living the type of life many of us dream about and are striving towards. Her family has a homestead in Peace River, Alberta, which is also the location where she runs a forest school. She has recently experienced the unexpected loss of her husband Jamah and is now running her homestead and raising her two young children with a little help from her local community. It is harvest time and they are working hard to harvest all the crops this fall as well as prepare her with all she will need this winter. There is also a website called, Love Sprouts Together, that is celebrating Jamah's life and also has more information on how to donate and/or share goods with Kaitlin and her children during their hardship. I hope that this story might inspire us all to share a little bit of our resources in one way or another with this family just as the creators in the story share a little bit with the fairy.
